Kate Street Big Band
We are a jazz big band that gets you up and dancing with a selection of swing, Latin, jazz standards, ballads, rock and lots more. Kate Street Big Band (previously Kate Street Mob, or KSM) has a wide repertoire and performs many times each year. The Kate Street Big Band has played at the Sherwood Community Festival since 2011, the Brisbane Big Band Festival since 2013, and is asked back to many other regular events.
The Big Band generally rehearses fortnightly on Saturday afternoons 2-4pm during school terms at Good News Lutheran Primary School, Middle Park, in the Music Building - see the calendar for scheduled rehearsal dates and times. Members are requested to arrive 15mins early to help setup for rehearsal and warm-up/tune.
